“The dualism as a manifestation of the contrary, the
opposition as a confrontation creating ambivalences, short circuits and double
senses often causing in the observer disorientation effects, but expressing
also the wish to find a contact, to establish a relationship, to reach a
complementarity, a union, to feel a passage, a frontier that can loosen a
break. These are the aspects that
characterize the creative work of Rachel Morellet, who is experimenting in the
last years different materials and technics.
From the photo to the video, from sewing to
embroidery, from the design to the assemblage of found elements, from the
peluche to the acrylic painting, the artist ironically proposes ideas that seem
to diverge from the usual codes, deviating from the usual parameters, which are
consolidated in the symbolic collective universe, in order to cause a momentary
‘’disconnection’’, a derailment from the usual tracks, to stimulate a new
awareness”.
