Autopsia
Argon tubes, transformer, plasticine, sand, 2024
This work was born in the context of a residency in which I participated, spending time in the rooms of the Cassero of the Poggio Imperiale Fortress, Poggibonsi, FI. Italy
Lying on the floor is the silhouette of a woman, a self-portrait of the artist herself.
The installation is imprisoned in the wall to represent the woman's fate, somewhere between disappearance and claustrophobic silence. The fortress in fact lends itself well to representing the constriction of the places where women were often forced to live and die, both in reality and in fantasy.
The fortress is modelled on the proportions of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, while the female figure is embedded in the architecture like a ghost.
